Job Description: Donelson Christian Academy is a Pre-K through 12 regionally-accredited, coeducational, college-preparatory, Christian day school enrolling 950 students. Founded in 1971, the 25-acre campus is in a residential section of Donelson, TN, a suburb twenty minutes from downtown Nashville, TN. The Academy seeks to serve Christ by assisting parents in providing students with a challenging, college preparatory education taught from a non-denominational biblical worldview that develops the whole person into a Christ-like leader in the home, church, and community.
The Academy is looking for a dedicated, passionate Upper School AP U.S. History Teacher and History Department Chair to join our exceptional team of educators. The teacher must deliver lessons that develop students' historical knowledge and academic skills, develop strong partnerships with parents, mentor students from a Biblical worldview, and model Christ-like character to Upper School students in a collegial environment. The Department Chair will promote and coordinate the efficiency of the history department, overseeing the K-12 curriculum while following the school’s mission and values.

The Academy is looking for a dedicated, passionate Academic Technology Specialist (ATS) to join our exceptional team of educators. The ATS will serve by leading, coaching, mentoring, and training teachers to utilize technology in the classroom more effectively to enhance teacher instruction and student learning.

Academic Technology Specialist Responsibilities:
Collaborate with faculty to innovate teaching and learning in the classroom by
a. discovering and advocating new instructional apps/processes/tools for specific issues.
b. discovering and advocating new online materials, i.e., digital textbooks, for specific classes.
c. leading teacher training programs to improve technology usage.
Teaching/Coaching/Mentoring K-12 faculty by
a. introducing and modeling proven technological methods for classroom instruction.
b. introducing new methods of differentiated instruction using technology.
c. reviewing faculty uses of RenWeb, Promethean boards, iPads, Google Suite, and digital teaching and learning.
Collaborate with administration and the IT department to
a. plan technology-related professional learning opportunities for faculty and staff.
b. create an equipment replacement schedule for students, teachers, and classrooms.
c. develop a 3-5 year strategic plan for technology at DCA.
Follow current state technology standards and enhance technology curriculum goals for K-12 as needed.
Support faculty and division leaders to assist in achieving established goals.
Educate parents on DCA technology policies, practices, and using RenWeb.
Practice the ministry of presence by attending some fine arts and athletic events.
Attend weekly chapels and lead a weekly student advisory group.
Fulfill assigned duties such as supervising students in the cafeteria, car line, study hall, etc.
Attend meetings with department colleagues and school staff.

Academic Technology Specialist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Belief, support, and acceptance of Donelson Christian Academy’s Statement of Faith and a clear understanding of the Christian worldview as it relates to all parts of school life
Broad knowledge of technology, including PCs, Macs, and iPads
Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office, administrative software, Google Suite, and classroom software
Possess strong interpersonal/relational skills and excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to work with staff, faculty vendors, and volunteers in accomplishing strategic technology-related instructional goals that impact the entire Academy
Ability to diagnose simple hardware issues
Knowledge of the basic principles of teamwork
Bachelor’s degree or higher in educational technology or the equivalent
General understanding and appreciation of DCA history and culture
Display an “Always Learning Attitude,” desiring to acquire professional knowledge about current trends in technology
Desire to be a Christian role model
