Position Summary
The High School Bible Teacher is responsible for providing academically rigorous and spiritually formative instruction rooted in the Holy Scriptures. This role is central to the school’s mission of preparing students for a life of Christian service. The ideal candidate will be a faithful member of the church of Christ, demonstrating a deep love for God’s Word and a commitment to mentoring adolescents through the lens of Restoration Movement principles.
Primary Responsibilities
Biblical Instruction: Develop and implement a curriculum that covers Old and New Testament surveys, Christian evidences, Church history, and practical Christian living.
Doctrinal Fidelity: Present biblical truths with clarity and conviction, emphasizing the New Testament pattern for the church, the plan of salvation, and the authority of Scripture.
Chapel Leadership: Assist in planning and leading daily or weekly chapel services, including coordinating student-led worship and delivering occasional devotional messages.
Mentorship: Actively engage with students to foster spiritual growth, offering biblical guidance on contemporary issues and personal faith development.
Classroom Management: Maintain an orderly, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that reflects Christian grace and discipline.
Community Integration: Work collaboratively with local churches of Christ to bridge the gap between academic study and active congregational involvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
Faith Alignment: Must be an active, faithful member in good standing of the church of Christ.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Bible, Ministry, or Religious Education is required. A Master’s degree or additional teaching certification in a secondary subject is highly preferred.
Communication: Ability to articulate complex theological concepts in a way that is accessible and relevant to teenagers.
Character: Must model a lifestyle of prayer, service, and integrity as outlined in the school’s code of conduct.
